Filling Types

The materials available for today’s fillings include tooth-colored composite and porcelain. Many patients choose these so that their fillings will blend in with the surrounding teeth. They’re especially useful for fillings on front teeth. In other cases, gold or silver amalgam may be preferable. Our dentist can suggest the right material for your procedure.

Crown Types

Porcelain crowns are a popular choice for strong, tooth-colored dental caps. A porcelain ceramic crown may be fused to a metal base. If you’re getting a front crown, your dentist may recommend porcelain. Gold crown tooth caps are an option for back teeth.

Bridge Types

A temporary dental bridge may be used for a few weeks during the bridge process. Dental Crown Steps

We look forward to fitting you with your new dental crown over the course of a few appointments. First, we will prepare the underlying tooth and take impressions for molding the permanent crown. At this point in the crown procedure, you will receive a temporary crown. Shortly thereafter, you’ll return for the next step of your tooth crown procedure. We will cement the permanent cap into place. For each visit of the 
crown tooth procedure, set aside 30 to 60 minutes for your appointment.

Tooth Bridge Steps

We will schedule at least two visits for your dental bridge process. The first will be for preparing the abutment teeth and taking dental impressions. We can also give you a temporary bridge dental device. For the next step in getting a dental bridge, you’ll return for the permanent device. The dentist will place the bridge and adjust it as needed.
